Your Airport: your views

Public consultation 2018

A conversation about the airport’s future began towards the end of 2017, with a consultation set against the backdrop of our distinguished past, presenting a window on the busy airport of today, and a glimpse into an exciting future. In ‘A world of opportunities’, we asked what you thought our Master Plan should deliver.

Towards 2050 provides an update on the preparation of our Master Plan, including a summary of your feedback from our previous consultation, our latest thinking, and our ambitions for the future. We explain how we aim to give more certainty, particularly with respect to setting out the next step in our phased approach to growth.

The consultation closes at 23:59 on Friday 6th July. After the consultation we will publish a report summarising your feedback and explaining how we are taking it into account. Your views, together with further analysis and study, will result in our Draft Master Plan. We will consult on our Draft Master Plan again in late 2018/ early 2019.

Planning for the future

Bristol Airport is an essential part of the region’s transport network, providing national and international connections, supporting businesses and creating jobs for local people. We are more connected than ever, with over 120 destinations, and are investing in our facilities. Current forecasts mean we now need to extend our horizon to 2050, and consider the potential for demand reaching around 20 million passengers per year in the future.

Our five pillars for the Master Plan

To make sure we get the best possible outcome for our passengers, neighbours and the region as a whole, our new Master Plan will be guided by five pillars.

Pillar 1.jpg

A world-leading regional airport

Delivering easy and convenient access, excellent on-time performance, friendly and efficient customer service, a great range of destinations, state-of-the-art facilities and a distinctive sense of place that reflects the unique part of the world we serve.
